| Settling in: The Myth
About a day after I sent my last newsletter, I found out that I was not going to be moving to the place that I said I was going to. Instead, I moved in with another of the Christians in his small apartment for two weeks. While, I searched for a new place to live. Now, I have my own apartment and things are looking up. I still do not know how long I will stay at this apartment. However, I know that I have to leave here by April, because the owner of the apartment wants to move in. I do not think that I will ever get settled in. However, I will be here at least two months because I have already paid for two months' rent. A New Christian
The Church in Hungary
We decided that we would start in September and by the end of
June read the Bible through. This is something that we all thought
would be good because many of the members are new Christians and they have
never read most of the Bible. This is a big task that is set before
us. We have a schedule where we read three Old Testament chapters
a day and two chapters of the New Testament. This will allow us to
read all the Old Testament once, the New Testament twice, and the Gospels
three times. I think that this will help each of us to have a closer
relationship to God and be better able to know what he wants from us.
Both of the projects are going to help us grow. It will help each of us see what God's will is and how we are to handle it correctly. They will also help us to grow closer together and work better together. Let me also challenge you to join us in the challenge of reading the Bible through in a year. It will help you become closer to God. Culture Corner
A good thing about Hungarian is that is very easy to read aloud when you learn all the sounds. This is because each letter has only one sound. This is a rule and there are no exceptions. Hungarian is a very phonetic language. In the work here, knowing the language is very important.
By knowing the language, I will be better equipped to teach the people
of Hungary. I will also be able to understand the needs of the people
better. Prayer Requests
